Together with the design and installation of the Dubai Aquarium & Zoo and Kidzania/Dubai Mall, we were very proud to be appointed as the contractor for the design and installation of the best artificial palm trees and Artificial Ficus Trees (with natural trunks) at The Dubai Mall – Gold Souk. The Ficus Trees were especially customized in look and shape in Europe and the leaves and the workmanship are of the highest quality.
Preserved Palm Trees and Artificial Ficus Trees are different from one another.
Preserved means that real-life leaves, sometimes also the outer trunk layer are used to create an artificial tree. To do that the real leaves (and/or trunk) are submerged in a special liquid that freezes them in time.
The leaves of an artificial tree on the other hand are made of either silk, textile, or if to be used outdoors, plastic (UV protection is added). The trunk can be natural, which of course makes the tree look more real or if we are looking at trees beyond 4 meters height, it makes sense to have the trunk made out of fibreglass. The theming, as the decoration on the fiberglass trunk is called, is usually so perfect – for example rims, cuts, color shading -, that once again the gap between real and artificial becomes very narrow.
